Joy in the Journey: October 2012

And our 3rd Pumpkin Patch this season: The KC Pumpkin patch edition. We started the day with a super yummy breakfast at First Watch. Ava and daddy enjoyed practicing stacking the creamers while we waited for our food.

And we headed off to the pumpkin patch. Ava and I made the venture on our own last year, since dad wasn't able to join us due to work. Looking at the pictures from all of the fun that we had last year made me even more excited to visit again this year!

Ava has a new found love of posing in any and every photo-op she gets....I'll spare you all of them, but here's a sample for your viewing pleasure.

It was a pretty chilly day outside, as well as a weekday and the day before Halloween, which meant we had the entire place mostly to ourselves. Even more fun!

First stop for Ava was the Pumpkin Express Train....

Ava wanted to check out the Jumping Pillow next. It's basically just what it sounds like...a giant orange pillow that you can jump on. Just a bit safer than a trampoline.

Ava and daddy had SO much fun. They tackled and tickled, jump and fell...we had the entire pillow to ourselves!

The little preschoolers on their field trip. So we had to share the pillow for a few minutes!

I was sad that they didn't have the same big chair as last year for pictures - I was looking forward to see how big she had grown in just a year! But they had this cute area set up so we took advantage of it and snapped a few pictures. Ever since she went pumpkin bowling, she decided she needed to roll each pumpkin she saw....right off of the stage.

Next stop, Ava's first hot chocolate. Love at first sip!

Petting zoo time. Bunnies, goats, pigs, and a donkey. And those goats were hungry!

The little haunted house - Josh is obviously excited. I wasn't so sure about it - was a little afraid it would be scary to Ava. Not so much, as soon as we were out she yelled "again!"

We played in the play barn, on the slides and in the corn pit. Last year I couldn't tear her away from the slide, but this year my little girl was satisfied after just a few trips down.
